Once you have carefully chosen an extension, installation is a breeze. Simply slide the extension onto the gate, insert the spindles and twist the tension knobs until the gate is securely pressure mounted to the wall.

This extension fit perfectly with the existing gate I already had, and the 24-inch width is exactly what I needed for the doorway space. The only small issue is that the connecting hardware feels a little flimsy compared to the gate itself, though once it's locked in place, it holds fine.
